About The Canada Greener Homes Grant
The Canada Greener Homes Grant is a federal program aimed at helping Canadian homeowners make their homes more energy-efficient and reduce their carbon footprint. The program offers grants of up to $5,000 to homeowners to make energy-efficient retrofits to their homes, such as upgrading insulation, replacing windows and doors, and improving heating and cooling systems The program is co-delivered by Natural Resources Canada and Enbridge Gas in Ontario through the Home Efficiency Rebate Plus (HER+) program.
Homeowners can receive grants ranging from $125 to $5,000 for eligible home retrofits, which can significantly reduce energy use and costs. Additionally, the program provides a maximum contribution of $600 for pre- and post-retrofit evaluations, which helps homeowners understand how much energy their homes are using and where they can make improvements.

WHO CAN GET A REBATE
Canada Greener Homes Grant
To be eligible for the Canada Greener Homes Grant, homeowners must meet specific criteria, including providing proof of ownership and showing that their home is their primary residence.
In addition to the greener homes grant some homeowners may be eligible for the provincial Enbridge Gas Home Energy Rebate Plus program (HER+). Applicants must apply through the Enbridge Gas Home Energy Rebate Plus program (HER+) to be considered for both the provincial grant program, HER+, and the federal grant initiative, the Canada Greener Homes Grant. It should be noted that Non-Enbridge gas customers can still qualify for the Canada greener homes grant.
Once the application is completed and accepted the applicant must complete Pre-retrofit EnerGuide evaluation with a certified energy advisor.
In addition to grants, applicants can also apply for a 10 year interest free loan between $5,000 and $40,000
