Eco Plus Program
Homeowners who acquire environmentally friendly housing are eligible for a partial premium refund under the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) Eco Plus Program the CMCH Eco Plus Program was formally called the Green Home Program.
Homeowners who buy or build a new home built to eligible building standards or purchase an existing home and make energy efficiency improvements can receive up to a 25% insurance premium refund.

WHO CAN GET A REBATE
CMCH Eco Plus Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the Eco Plus Program, homeowners must have CMHC home insurance that conforms to an eligibility requirement such as eligible building standards; and/or Greenhouse Gas Emissions requirements; and/or energy consumption requirements.
To be eligible, homeowners must have paid the lending institution for the costs of CMHC mortgage loan insurance. The application for the Eco Plus Program must be submitted within 24 months of the closing date of the mortgage. Supporting energy efficiency documentation can be no more than 5 years old as well.
